Stephen Harada, DDS

Stephen Harada, DDS

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Dr. Stephen Harada is a dentist and inventor with nearly 40 years of practice in the San Francisco Bay area. In 1998, a patient emergency inspired him to design a better toothbrush, leading to the development of the Curvex line—ergonomically engineered brushes featuring patented innovations in bristle arrangement, head shape, and handle design. His designs include a convex head that curves away from the palate, tapered bristles that follow the dental arch, and a reverse-curve handle for improved posterior reach. He founded Ergonomic Dental Technologies (EDT) to bring his designs to market, securing international patents beginning in 2001. Clinical studies at the Dugoni School of Dentistry validated Curvex's effectiveness, and the U.S.-manufactured product line received the ADA Seal of Acceptance. Dr. Harada earned his DDS from the University of the Pacific's Dugoni School of Dentistry in 1977.
